EMILE REYNAUD Nouveaux Regards book features my Praxinoscope Theatre of Horrors

Never have I thought that my work and name would be in a book!

During my MA Moving Image and Sound course in 2018 at Norwich University of the Arts, I re-created Emile Reynaud’s Praxinoscope Theatre with a horror spin. Learn more about the Praxinoscope Theatre of Horrors.

Recently a book came out in France with my praxinoscope called EMILE REYNAUD Nouveaux regards. I'm featured in the contemporaries section written by Christine Veras, a professor of history of animation at the University of Dallas, Texas.

It is so lovely to see something come of the MA project. For a while, I felt like I wasted the opportunity that I had. It is so incredibly cathartic having a group of people appreciate and recognize this piece of work. According to Christine, it is one of the best-documented building processes of the Praxinoscope Theatre. Means so much!

I’m sad that I took it apart. The few galleries I reached out to couldn’t take it because it was too big (90 x 90 cm). After a few years of holding onto it, I decided to let it go. Little did I know…
